In a time without television, videos, dvds, or air conditioning, the Granada Theatre was the place to be.
During the summer the Theatre sold discounted ’season tickets’ to the matinee shows. It was an added bonus that the Granada had one of the few environmental cooling systems in Emporia Kansas at the time. It was a welcome escape from the summer heat.
