When the work was first begun on the Granada, the building was in dire need of a little care. There was a fair population of pigeons tenanting the auditorium due to a large hole in the roof, and of course the rain and snow used this same entrance. Weather, neglect and time had taken their toll on the interiors of the building.

Oh, did we mention that there had been a fire in the auditorium? It did a good bit of damage to the proscenium and ceiling of the auditorium. Thankfully, the damage was mostly from smoke and not the fire itself.
