In March of 2008 the scaffolding was taken down. A crew that had expanded to as many as 20 artisans, construction personnel, and designers as well as outside contractors had been working hard. They had labored on the heating and cooling systems, electrical wiring and lighting, sheet rock and painting, and finally, the application and finishing of the ornamental plaster panels and the finishing touches to the coffered ceiling.

The thing that truly dazzles when you walk into the vast auditorium of the Granada is the ceiling and plaster work ornamentation.

Artists lay on their backs on scaffolds and worked from ladders for weeks on end applying hand painted ornamentation to the ceiling and plaster panels. Working at odd angles, or above their heads, they meticulously applied paint to recreate the look of the original ceiling and plaster work revealed when the work was begun.

The difference is profound. The beauty and artistry that has been wrought is nothing short of awe inspiring.
